Narrative dive into the roots of Finnish past with live singing.

Duration 30 minutes.

I have gathered myths and beliefs that have touched me personally. I weave storytelling together with my songs, where respect for the old meets a modern twist.

Back in the days, the world appeared mysterious and magical to the Finnish people – the Finns. many things were beyond their understanding, so they had to be explained through myths and stories. The Finns believed in many different forces, and the forests were full of several creatures and spirits. Every pond and tree had its own spirit, and living together required respectful behavior from humans toward the folks of the nature. Harmony was maintained through many different ways, and coexistence with the supernatural was a part of their everyday life.

Would you like to hear about the origin of the bear and perhaps learn one of the best ways to protect yourself from a bear – the king of the forests? Or why one should knock on a tree trunk? Or how to ask for protection from the forest spirits when you were about to sleep under the cover of the forest?

These and many other delightful details come to life in my performance through stories and live perfomed songs. The songs have been specially composed for this particular performance, so it’s easy to say that this kind of authentic experience at Rovaniemi (or anywhere else!) is something you won’t experience with anyone else!

I provide drum relaxation sessions accompanied by intuitive singing.

Duration 45minutes.

The ancient vibrations of the drum, combined with my vocal sound waves, ground and connect to the innermost self. For some, it takes them on a journey far away, while for others, the soundscape allows for quiet reflection close to themselves.

Before the relaxation, we will do a short mindfulness exercise to tune into the moment. After the drum journey, there will be time to gently awaken your body back to reality and an opportunity to share thoughts about the experience with the participants, if desired.

Intuitive singing always emerges in the moment. It is not planned in advance, nor can it be confined. With intuitive singing, I too am always on the journey for the first time. The drum’s resonance moves the innermost parts of a person on a cellular level, and one can never know in advance what kind of unique journey is about to begin.

Intuitive singing is about surrender. Singing invites letting go of the conscious and logical, trusting instead that the heart hears the best. The language of intuitive singing belongs to no one, and therefore it cannot be confined; every sound wave has its own story to tell for each participant, individually. The path, that that calls one to journey, that asks to be met and received.

A drum relaxation combined with a communal experience, where the group can safely participate in creating the soundscape under my guidance. When the participants become involved in sound production themselves, the sound resonates in the body in a fundamentally deeper way, taking the experience to an even more profound level. This is truly something else!

For me, as an artist, it is an eternal mystery to embark on the journey of drum relaxation. Each time is different, woven together from the energies of those present and the shared flow. After the sessions, I often experience great bewilderment about what has occurred. As if I were merely a receiver and amplifier of sound waves.

For both drum relaxation sessions, I bring to the participants;

• Mat for comfortable lying
• Travel bolster
• Warm blanket
• Pillow for your head
• Small oat pillow for your eyes, which helps to shut out the world and close your eyes

I primarily operate locally in Rovaniemi and surrounding areas, supporting sustainable travel by minimizing unnecessary logistics. However, when the occasion calls, I am happy to travel further to bring these experiences to new audiences – always with care and intention.
